Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO) Hyderabad hosted an inspiring power talk, Redefining Glamour & Influence—A Power Talk for the Next Generation, featuring Shalini Passi, a distinguished art patron, collector, and philanthropist. Held at The Leela, Hyderabad, the event provided a platform to explore the evolving definitions of influence, creativity, and purpose.

Embracing Influence Beyond Glamour

In her opening remarks, YFLO Chairperson Ridhi Jain set the tone for the evening, celebrating Shalini Passi as a trailblazer who redefines influence. She emphasized that true influence is not about status or appearance but about impact, innovation, and legacy. Quoting W.E.B. Du Bois, Jain remarked, “There is no force more powerful than a woman determined to rise.” She underscored that Passi exemplifies this philosophy, seamlessly blending artistry with advocacy and luxury with a deeper purpose.

A Vision Beyond the Superficial

During an engaging conversation, Shalini Passi challenged conventional notions of beauty and glamour. She urged the audience to appreciate beauty beyond social media filters, drawing inspiration from the wisdom and grace of older generations. “True beauty lies in experience, resilience, and substance,” she shared.

Passi also provided insights into personal well-being, emphasizing the importance of confidence, self-care, and authenticity. “Glamour is about feeling fabulous in your own skin,” she stated, adding that a disciplined lifestyle, rather than mere aesthetics, contributes to overall well-being.

A Legacy of Art and Aesthetics

Passi's love for art, which began with a single transformative experience, has since evolved into an extensive collection that includes modern and contemporary masterpieces from renowned artists such as Bharti Kher, Anita Dube, Zarina Hashmi, M.F. Husain, Manjit Bawa, and international luminaries like Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst. She has curated what could be considered a private museum of Indian modern art, interweaving tradition with contemporary expression.

Passi is also passionate about photography, documenting architecture and cultural heritage, with a special fondness for Banaras, which she calls “a photographer’s paradise.” When asked about the city that epitomizes artistic heritage, she pointed to Rome, citing its centuries-old contributions to global art and architecture.

Empowering the Next Generation

Passi's message to young women was clear: “No one sees your struggles; they only see the outcome. Focus on your goals, give your best, and rise above the noise.” Encouraging resilience, she added, “No train stops for barking dogs—it keeps moving. Stay focused, add value, and create impact.”

As the founder of the Shalini Passi Art Foundation & MASH, she remains dedicated to fostering contemporary art, design, and fashion. Through her foundation’s initiatives, she supports emerging artists and promotes arts education, solidifying her role as a transformative force in India’s creative landscape.

A Lasting Impression

Shalini Passi’s insights left an indelible mark on the audience, redefining glamour not as a mere aesthetic pursuit but as a dynamic force of influence, creativity, and purpose. The evening reinforced YFLO’s commitment to empowering young women to lead with vision, authenticity, and impact.
