The winners of the TiE Grad Plus Regional Finals 2024 were announced today, spotlighting innovative business solutions by young entrepreneurs across the region. TiE Grad Plus, an entrepreneurship program designed to inspire and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in students, attracted twelve teams competing to showcase their ideas and vie for the top awards.
Top Honors and Prizes: Green Fusion, a startup from Vishnu Institute of Technology, Bhimavaram, clinched the top position with its energy monitoring solution for industries, winning ₹1 lakh. G-Eye, a compact, affordable eye examination device from G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Sciences, was awarded the 1st runner-up spot with a prize of ₹50,000. The 2nd runner-up, Red String, an affordable talent solutions platform from Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology, received ₹20,000.
Additionally, Green Fusion secured the People’s Choice Award for the best Elevator Pitch, with an extra ₹10,000 in prize money.
The Regional Finals saw an inspiring display of talent and innovation, as students from diverse institutions competed for top honors and a chance to advance to the TiE Global Summit 2024 in Bangalore and the Rice Business Plan Competition (RBPC).
Words of Inspiration from Esteemed Guests: The Chief Guest, Mr. Joginder Tanikella, CEO of T-Works, shared insights from his experiences at T-Works, where many startup prototypes come to life, including those from past TiE Grad alumni like WCB Robotics. He encouraged budding entrepreneurs to utilize resources like T-Works to bring their ideas to fruition.
Mr. Srini Chandupatla, President of TiE Hyderabad, emphasized TiE Grad’s role as a powerful launchpad, transforming academic concepts into real-world ventures and nurturing the innovators of tomorrow. Chair of the TiE Grad Committee, Mr. Bhanu Prakash Varla, and Co-Chair Dr. Nandita Sethi further highlighted TiE Grad's commitment to supporting students’ entrepreneurial journeys through mentorship and networking opportunities.
