On September 28, 2024, Aavison Education, in collaboration with EduDrone - WE CONNECT, hosted the highly anticipated School Leaders Meet 2024. The event centered around a pressing issue in modern education—financial literacy in schools—and included the launch of a groundbreaking book series on financial literacy, The Money Matters. With the participation of distinguished school leaders, educators, and financial experts, the event provided a dynamic platform for discussing strategies to equip students with essential financial knowledge for the future.
Opening Session The day commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Kajal Chhatija and Mr. Sanjay Chhatija, who emphasized the growing significance of financial education in shaping the next generation’s well-being. Paras Fursule, Founder and CEO of Aavison Education, along with board members Anand Fursule, Avinash Fursule, and Dinesh Srivastava, delivered an inspiring opening address. They highlighted the urgency of incorporating financial literacy into school curricula to cultivate sound financial management skills from a young age.
Panel Discussion 1: Financial Literacy – Fad or Reality? Moderated by Dr. Kajal Chhatija, this session featured key industry voices, including Mr. Mukesh Tilwani, Dr. Rashmi Gupta, Ms. Kanika Anand, Ms. Shilpi Shukla, and Mr. Pushkar Choubey. The panel debated whether financial literacy is a passing trend or a lasting necessity. The consensus: financial education is crucial, and schools must take an active role in integrating it into their programs.
Interactive Activities & Special Session Ms. Saryu led the audience in a lighthearted ice-breaker activity that rekindled participants' childhood memories about money, followed by an energizing session with renowned author and financial expert Mr. Sumeet Arora. Joined by his team—Ms. Natasha Davesar, Ms. Varindra, and Ms. Saryu—Arora introduced The Money Matters series, which focuses on developing a student-centric approach to financial education. The session featured the engaging "Boojho Toh Jaanein!" challenge, aimed at exploring the key pillars of financial literacy: earning, saving, investing, spending, and systems.
Panel Discussion 2: The Role of Schools and Parents in Making Students Money Wise Moderated by Dr. Chhatija, this discussion featured insights from Dr. Dharna Gupta, Dr. M. Madan, Ms. Renuka Kaushik, Mr. Jitendra Khairnar, Mr. Pranay Oswal, and Mr. Ashok Sachdev. The panel stressed the joint responsibility of schools and parents in fostering financially informed students. The event culminated in the grand launch of The Money Matters, cementing the collaboration between Aavison Education and EduDrone in their mission to promote financial literacy.
