Invisible Scars Foundation launches Project Humraahi to support survivors of Domestic Violence and Abuse

Invisible Scars Foundation (ISF), the Madhapur, Hyderabad-based NGO launched today Project Humraahi to support survivors of Domestic Violence and Abuse, with the generous backing of Infosys Foundation.

Disclosing this in a press note issued in the city, the foundation informed that an MOU in partnership with the Nirmaan Foundation was also signed to skill survivors, equipping them with tools for financial independence.

Project Humraahi is a unique initiative that aims to provide free online support to Indian survivors of domestic violence and abuse, offering immediate relief and guidance to survivors, from any part of the country—or even the world.

We provide the following services to survivors: Awareness, First Level Support, Mental Health Support, Legal Counselling, Litigation Support, Shelter, Skilling and Livelihood. This initiative was launched to support survivors without the need for them to travel to counselling centres, lawyer’s offices, or courts. They can now access these services from the comfort of their homes, at their convenience, the release stated.

Recognizing that many survivors of domestic violence and abuse face financial hardship or economic abuse, we assist at no cost. Our online model also allows survivors to seek help across time zones at their convenience. With a collective effort, Project Humraahi can touch even the most remote survivors and ensure that no one feels alone in their journey to safety and healing. Domestic violence and abuse affect millions worldwide. Invisible Scars Foundation calls on corporations and organizations to join this mission to expand its reach and create safe spaces for survivors.

“This initiative marks a significant milestone for Invisible Scars Foundation, as it works toward its ambitious goal of supporting 500,000 survivors over the next five years. More than a helpline, Project Humraahi is a symbol of hope and a lifeline for those in need”, said Viiveck Verma, Director at Invisible Scars Foundation

Invisible Scars Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in Hyderabad, dedicated to centring domestic violence and abuse conversations in the space of gender-based violence.

We empower survivors with available resources, including educational materials, and customised toolkits. We have partnered with several NGOs, Legal Professionals, Police and Other Domestic Violence and Abuse ecosystem stakeholders, to create a country-wide network of empathetic professionals.

ISF provides Awareness, First Level Support, Mental Health Support, Legal Counselling, Litigation Support, Shelter, Skilling, Livelihood, and Other Adhoc Necessities, and is engaged in Policy Advocacy to centre Domestic Violence and Abuse in Gender Based Violence conversations. As the Founder Ekta Viiveck Verma says, “Invisible Scars Foundation envisions a world where DVA survivors are empowered with the tools and support they need to reclaim their dignity, resilience, and self-worth”
