IIID Design Awards 2022 Honors Interior Design Excellence in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

On Friday, Shri Arvind Kumar, Spl Chief Sec, Govt of Telangana, presented the 14th edition of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) Design Awards 2022 in a late-night function held at JRC Convention Center in Filmnagar, Hyderabad. These awards are the oldest in the interior designing industry and recognize excellence in interior design professionals in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The awards included 12 categories and lifetime achievement awards were presented to Ms Sona Chatwani and Mr Raaj Sree Ram for their outstanding contributions to the field.




Mr. Manoj Wahi, Chairman of IIID-HRC Term 2021-23, stated that the awards were a recognition and honor for excellence in interior design professionals in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He also urged the government of Telangana to support the establishment of IIID's own Center for Excellence to regulate the industry, which is currently unregulated.

During the event, Mr. Arvind Kumar expressed the desire to have more places in Hyderabad listed by UNESCO as world heritage sites and called for the adoption of more lakes and traffic junctions in the city. He also mentioned the importance of reviving heritage structures and step-wells to make the city more vibrant.





IIID-HRC is the Apex body for Interior Designers & Architects practicing Interior Design in India and has been progressing from strength to strength since its inception in 1972. The Hyderabad Regional Chapter (IIID-HRC) was founded in 1996 and has nearly 600 members from the design fraternity of Hyderabad and the surrounding region. The IIID-HRC Design Awards is an annual event that recognizes creative and successful talent from across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and serves as a launch pad for upcoming designers in the region.
