Heritage International School, Kasar Amboli, Celebrates National Sports Day with Enthusiasm and Dedication

August 29, 2024 - Heritage International School, Kasar Amboli, observed National Sports Day with great excitement, commemorating the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. The event, aimed at promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship among students, was marked by a series of sports competitions and activities that brought the school community together in celebration.



National Sports Day is a significant occasion across India, dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of sports and physical activities. Schools, colleges, and institutions nationwide mark this day with sports events, competitions, and fitness activities. The government also honours outstanding sports personalities with prestigious awards such as the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Arjuna Award, and Dronacharya Award, recognizing their contributions to Indian sports.


Dr. Renu Patil, the Principal of Heritage International School, addressed the students, emphasizing the critical role of sports in the overall development of individuals. She highlighted Major Dhyan Chand's remarkable contributions to Indian hockey, urging students to draw inspiration from his dedication and achievements. The day featured a variety of sports competitions, including kabaddi, kho-kho, dodgeball, and other traditional games, with students from all grades actively participating and showcasing their skills and sportsmanship.



The school grounds buzzed with energy as students engaged in friendly matches and cheered on their peers. To further honour Major Dhyan Chand's legacy, educational videos on his life and the significance of sports in India were shown to the elder classes, providing them with valuable insights into the history and importance of sports.

The school management, including Mr Krishna Bhilare (Founder, President), Mrs Sangeeta Bhilare (Secretary), Mr Kunal Bhilare (Director), and Mrs Yashaswini Bhilare (Admin Manager), conveyed their best wishes to the students on this occasion, encouraging them to continue pursuing excellence in sports and academics alike.
