In a world that’s increasingly connected online, ensuring children’s digital safety is paramount. Heritage International School, KasarAmboli, Pune, stepped up to the challenge by organizing a Child Safety and Cyber Security workshop for Grades 7 through 10. This timely session coincides with the Sixth Child Safety Week, observed from November 14 to November 20, and underscores the school’s dedication to student well-being.
The session was led by Dr. Sachin Mohan Bhide, an experienced strategist and founder of Eha Management and Consultancy. Known for his expertise in marketing strategy and cyber awareness, Dr Bhide shared real case studies of cyber-attacks and discussed everyday strategies for staying safe online. He engaged students in an eye-opening conversation about recognizing unsafe websites, avoiding inauthentic apps, and being smart digital citizens.
Principal Dr Renu Patil passionately addressed the importance of keeping children safe in both physical and digital spaces, noting, “Our students are among the most vulnerable; they must be safeguarded against physical, mental, and emotional threats.” She illustrated her message with examples of recent cyber crimes, equipping students with practical tips to stay secure.
The workshop’s interactive format, real-life examples, and open discussion left a lasting impact on students, who shared positive feedback and pledged to use their new knowledge responsibly. School leaders Mr. Krishna Bhilare (Founder, President), Mrs Sangeeta Bhilare (Secretary), Mr Kunal Bhilare (Director), and Mrs. Yashaswini Bhilare recognized the significance of the event and expressed pride in supporting these initiatives.
Looking ahead, the school plans to host a more hands-on, multi-day workshop to build on this foundation and continue guiding students toward safe online practices. Heritage International School remains committed to empowering its students with the tools they need to navigate today’s digital world safely.
