Dr Nupur is the epitome of beauty, grace, perfection and formidable strength.
Her life journey is a beautiful narrative laced with grit, inner resilience, self-less sacrifice, rooted in values–a torchbearer to all women to believe in their dreams and uncage all self inhibitive thoughts.
Hailing from a family of judicial services and lawyers, she was a single child. Her family had a lot of aspirations for her since she was a child prodigy, a bright spark. She cleared her PMT and was all set to join Bangalore University but as fate would have it she could not join the University and pursue a career in the legal field. She simultaneously started preparing for civil services to realise her childhood dream of riding a beacon lit car.
Soon she immersed herself in her work and started working at the District session courts dealing with criminal litigation cases, She espoused that we need to cherish and value every moment of life, take risks and utilize every moment at our disposal productively. She had the privilege and good fortune to do an internship under top lawyers like Ram Jethmalani. She made an impact with her judgements, soon her writing skills were appreciated and she was held in high respect.
After the Internship, she decided to start practising independently as a criminal lawyer. She started her litigation independently. With her legal wisdom and under her wisdom she made a mark in her profession.
Her Biggest milestone –achievement was moving to the Supreme Court of India – maintaining a diary under Ram Jethmalani with whom she worked for 28 months. Being a gold medallist she was able to carve a niche for herself and started her law firm in 2009 - Nupur LJLNU and Associates
Her phenomenal achievements include - Two world records in NGO and Legal fields. She has created an online repository where all legal services/ judgements/ legal news/ latest judgements are available on one platform. This has a whopping 2 lakh members/viewers across the globe.
This a service which offers support free of cost. These commendable services have been offered by her for the past 14 years. She receives almost 9000 posts daily which need to be read and approved by her – a herculean task completed with ease by her.
On her life choices she shared that despite clearing the preliminary stages of UPSC Exams, She chose to opt-out and choose family over career.
Why did she leave the security of her Govt job –
She did not want to stay away from her parents/family
/since judicial service has a lot of restrictions and limitations. She has been relentlessly working for the past 13 yrs in the field of crime against women.
She has sacrificed her ambition and aspirations in favour of her family and wonderfully maintained a balance between personal and professional priorities. She turned down several posts and assignments to meet her family obligations which included a military posting/ judicial services profile.
The biggest challenge–was when she was in first-semester law –where she met with a terrible accident on a two-wheeler, was dragged for 2 km on the highway, had fractures/ faced health issues, gained weight etc. She triumphed over all the challenges and came out stronger.
Her Foundation - Nari Shakti Ek Nayi Pahal Foundation was started on 6th April 2020. The objective was Legal and media support during Covid – to tackle rape cases – which were being ignored – she took up the cudgel to fight rape cases / formed a team – at both national and international level. This noble and humanitarian service was provided free of cost. 800 women cases were handled /300 rape victims were given justice.
On 1st March 2021 –she was registered in the London World Book of Records/ Guinness Book of Records/ Limca Book of Record.
She firmly believes if we change our mindset we can change society. We need to develop Perseverance and take a stand for the girls / lend our voice and support the voiceless.
She is a social warrior getting 70/80 calls a day – on crimes against women. Her message is to work unitedly / treat all children as your own / build your company/chart your destiny and contribute to society.
Who motivated or inspired you – we need to motivate ourselves, She was of a reserved nature, would talk to herself. Jaana was her positive avatar. She was her own best friend and wants us to be our motivation.
Anyone challenge which was a life lesson –
Give time to yourself / be determined to achieve your goals / if you can believe in yourself all your dreams will come true/ use the tool of positive self-affirmations – as they are key to reaching your goals.
An inspiration to all, a powerhouse of knowledge, a trailblazer – her key takeaways are -
BE HAPPY/ LIVE EVERY SECOND AS IF IT IS THE LAST DAY ON EARTH.
A wonderful talk with precious nuggets of wisdom and life lessons.
It was an electrifying session, shaking our mindsets and pushing us to accept challenges.
