Developmental Feminist, Poetess and Women Empowerment Culturist speaks on the concept of her most loved book launch cover of "Kaagaz Ke Phool: Ek Abhivyakti before her Birthday in May this year.
It is rightly said that some people enter our lives, leave a footprint behind on the tidal waves of time and move on, but the imprints left behind lasts till eternity. This evolves at the highest level of altruistic ways of life to understand the meaning of life itself as life is a continuous process of constant Learning and Forgiveness.
"Kaagaz Ke Phool: Ek Abhivyakti" is a book dedicated to the underlying fact of how the feminist icon took to writing in genre of "Shayari" which was completely an opposite to her ideology to set all her writings in the contemporary reflections of life. The couplet is the main understanding of the depth of things. Poetry in two stanzas of Persian, Urdu etc is Sher which is the mukhra and Shayari is the description.
The passing away of the most beloved just like sand slipping out of hands marks an end to a rare era of writing only in comtemporary in the most creative doctrine of notion to reflect: a composition of her most beloved poems wiven together in sunbeams od hope and despair as the loss was so humangous, however that pusher Mayaa to propel forward to write extrnsively in a genre that she had never attempted to think on.
"Kaagaz Ke Phool": Ek Abhivyakti reflects on concepts well defined to emulate the emotions people undergo when they either witness life very closely or the loss of a loved one which reached fulfillment. Such bends are left at a point in life at a crossroad where the paths that people choose split at that point of time unlike the tragic kissas of Heer-Ranjha or Sohni-Mahiwal or the loss takes its own course as life flows in and out experiences that build people in life. This made Mayaa adapt to bringing flexibility in her craft to connect more with people.
THE PROMISE TO MEET AGAIN
One could go on endlessly about precious memories from the Mayaa times. The loss always remains a fond "baba" (as fondly she has been called) to the literary accomplishments of Mayaa in her vast kaleidoscope of work abd her ideology of women upliftment. These learning experiences have been by her side when Mayaa was ailing to cope with a huge loss, making it as light and cheerful as she However, her legacy still continues to inspire many across the globe .
And as for our Mayaa, who took our indian language places bringing it to the glory of many awards in the field of women empowerment and many other honours as a globally recognised face. One precious memory is of those days when Mayaa ji was ailing aa recounted by one of her well wishers that she was living in Delhi then, working there when she got a call from Mayaa that she should come to see her because she wanted me to translate something. This was no less than a surprise as she had the likes of Amrita Pritam and allowing me to publish her work – and a first of such offer for me.
Kagaaz Ke Phool: Ek Abhivyakti displays a particularly dense mesh of intertextual and intermedial references to other literary texts, poems, contemporary installations, as well as to social media, apps, and other semiotic systems. This article has analysed a selection of those apparently discrete and eclectic choices, and tried to demonstrate that those external references enrich and cross-pollinate Mayaa's work, helping her in particular to structure all her work through subtle connexions, and to find a deeply personal literary language for her social commitment, in particular against the danger and violence of simplified identities.
This book of poems is a personal favourite of Mayaa that completely transformed her outlook towards understanding human emotions of the gap to be understood and misunderstood as a testimony of time. We need to give an account to God every careless word that we spoke. We have to explain to God every harsh word we said, every mean thing we said, and every rude thing we posted here and there.
A lot of times we say something mean to someone, and then say, “Oh, I’m just joking” And we expect them to not get mad at us. Well, god tells us that we can’t hide behind the line that we are just joking. God pays attention to all our words, and calls us to account for our words. It is the words that last till eternity and breathe life into the once dead.
